Haryana Government invite applications for the post of 3 Information Commissioners

Chandigarh 07th August:-- Haryana Government has invited applications for the post of three Information Commissioners in the State Information Commission latest by September 3, 2013. While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the State Government has constituted the State Information Commission under the Right to Information Act, 2005. The persons applying for Information Commissioners should be persons of eminence in public life with wide knowledge and experience in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass media or administration and governance. The spokesman said that the Information Commissioners should not be a Member of Parliament or a Member of Legislature of any State or Union Territory or hold any other office of profit or connected with any political party or carrying on any business or pursuing any profession. The cessation or termination of holding of office of profit, pursuing any profession or carrying any business is a condition precedent to the appointment of person as Information Commissioner.  He said that the term of Information Commissioner would be of five years from the date of which he enters upon his office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. The salary and allowance payable to him would be the same as that of Chief Secretary of the State Government subject to adjustment of the pensionary or retirement benefits availed by him, if any in accordance with the provisions of the Act. He said that persons fulfilling the criteria for appointment as Information Commissioner and interested for appointment to the post might send their particulars in the prescribed proforma by post to Deputy Secretary, Administration, 5th floor, Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh. Persons who were serving under the State or Central Government or any other organization might send their particulars through proper channel, he added.
