Chandigarh 12th July:-- The Lab of Crazy Scientists Today held a workshop for students and teachers of The British School, Chandigarh, which was a first of its kind activity that created an 'Ice Age' right in front of the eyes of the Students & Teachers. first of its kind activity that created an 'Ice Age' right in front of the eyes of the audience.  The experiments which were conducted by the Crazy Scientists were based on the unique qualities of liquid nitrogen, the gas, with the temperature of -196 ̊C! A bloated Balloon was put in a cold gas and voila – what resulted was indeed amazing. To give a feel of what the Ice age will do to eatables, fruits were freezed using Nitrogen. The Incredible viewing experience showed the scientists creating a frosty breath and even ate fruit frozen by Nitrogen, to demonstrate the need to develop such skills if another Ice Age strikes earth.

Four energetic members of The Lab of Crazy Scientists are  Yulia Kay, Mila Grishina, Alexander Kobzin and Ruslan Almakaiev, who call themselves Crazy Scientists, have launched very innovative programmes in the tri-city which make science fun and extremely colourful.

The crazy experimentation was wrapped up by performance of the signature experiment of the Lab of Crazy Scientists – the Crazy Foam – in which huge, unexpected, mad colorful foam jumped out of the flask and kept growing. The grand finale saw the most amazing and spectacular experiment of the programme – THE BIG BANG. The collision of temperatures creates super blast of vapour, something the members of the audience will never forget in their life. The show brought on earth Bubbles from Saturn – these were frozen soap bubbles, which one can observe only on Saturn. Says Alexander, A Crazy Scientist, "The idea in the Lab of Crazy scientists is not to teach science but to prove a point that the subject is interesting and has a lot of fun learning element in it

Mona Sethi, Principal, The British School, said that to create an environment where students and for that matter even teachers ask questions about science British school organized the workshop for students and teachers. The experiments were colourful and the way these were demonstrated, made it all the more interesting for students."

Yulia Kay said that Nitrogen gas itself is considered to be a safe, but once it gets in contact with human body like touching the flasks with nitrogen and with some amount of gas freezing between clothes and body for a long period, can become quite painful. That's what makes the work with nitrogen wonderful and challenging at the same time!"

The Ice Age created in the middle of peak summer time in India, using properties of Liquid Nitrogen left everyone awestruck. There was a bonus – Crazy Scientitsts treated the management board and media representatives with ICE-cream from nitrogen. The one and only type of ice-cream in entire India.
