Chandigarh Housing Board Approves New Citizens

Chandigarh 03rd October:- The Chandigarh Housing Board has approved the New Citizens' Charter vide Agenda item no. 402.5.1. During the process of implementation of the provisions of the New Citizens' Charter, it has come to notice that there are provisions for giving public notice for inviting objections in the cases applied for transfer under the Consensual/Blood Relation/Addition or Deletion (of the spouse name) Transfer Policy and for mutation of property on the basis of Sale deed/transfer deed/gift deed etc. However, as per past practice, the Chandigarh Housing Board is not releasing public notices in such cases.

In order to give notice to all the concerned and interested persons, who have reasonable claim(s) against the property and to avoid any sort of fraudulent transfers, it is decided that public notice giving 15 days time for inviting objections to the proposed transfer, shall be given in all such cases, as per the provisions of the New Citizens' Charter with effect from 19/09/2017.  It is further clarified that the transfer applications received before that date shall be processed as per the past practice, in order to avoid inconvenience & harassment to applicants.

CRB School Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti

Chandigarh 03rd October:- CRB Public School at Sector 7-B, Chandigarh celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm and fervour. The programme included paying of floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. A choir rendering of favourite Bhajans of Mahatma Gandhi were sung and students of class II showcased the teachings of Gandhiji reflecting themselves as 'Never see anything wrong', 'Never speak anything bad' and 'Never hear anything wrong'. An 'Essay writing competition' and 'Art Exhibition' was organised.

In an address by the Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Mittal appreciated the efforts of the students who participated in the 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' launched by the school. The students also took a pledge to follow the principles of non-violence and truth as advocated by Rashtarpita Mahatma Gandhi.

Chandigarh 02nd October:- उतराखण्ड भ्रात संगठन दरिया चण्डीगढ द्वारा स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के मिशन के तहत सफाई अभियान चलाया गया सफाई अभियान गढवाल कलोनी से शुरू होकर हरीश डाबा में खत्म हुई इस अभियान में 10 गलियों और 3 मुख्य रास्ते एवं दो पार्को को साफ किया गया इस मौके पर संगठन के सदस्यों बच्चों और बुजुर्गो ने बढ चढकर ग्रामीणों के सहयोग से गांव में सफाई अभियान भी चलाया गया।

Chandigarh Circle of SBI organizes “Swachhata Drive” on Gandhi Jayanti Day

Chandigarh 02nd October:- Chandigarh Circle of SBI comprising its operations in Chandigarh (UT) and the states of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, carried out "Swachhata drive" across its territoryin the run up to Gandhi Jayanti day.

Swachhata drive started from the Bank's Local Head Office in Chandigarh, with a large number of officers and staff led by the bank's Chief General Manager, Anil Kishora, cleaning up the peripheral roads adjoining the LHO building.

On 2nd October, SBI officials carried out "Swachhata drive" at Sec-42 Lake in Chandigarh. The volunteers of NSS who are students of Govt. College for Girls, Sec-42 Chandigarh also joined hands with the SBI team, to participate in the cleanliness mission.

Similar Swachhata initiatives were undertaken by the Bank's Zonal offices in Chandigarh, Panchkula, Rohtak, Patiala, Ludhiana, Bhatinda, Shimla and Jammu. As many as 2174 Branches also joined in the campaign by spring cleaning their premises and adjoining areas. Many passersby said that it was inspirational to see SBI staff, their friends, relatives and students carrying out Swachhata drive, wearing T-shirts embossed with SBI and Swachh Bharat logos. The Bank hopes this initiative will inspire the employees not only to keep the bank premises clean but also participate in keeping their neighborhood neat and clean.

SBI is committed to contribute to Swachh Bharat goals.

DAMS organizes Digital Seminar to Crack NEET-PG

Chandigarh 02nd October:- Chandigarh- Delhi Academy of Medical Science (DAMS) organized a digital seminar  via  satellite link to crack National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate Programme (NEET PG) organized by National Board Examination (NBE). The seminar held at Talkatora Stadium, Delhi and was broadcasted through satellite in Chandigarh and other centers, through which 25000 students from 150 centers across the country participated in this seminar.

The major objective of the seminar was to guide the aspirants who are looking to crack National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate Programme (NEET PG) to get admission into MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma Courses organized by National Board of Examination (NBE). The important aspects about the Entrance exam are discussed in this seminar, the general tips to crack the exam, selection process, paper pattern, Marking Scheme and Subjects to be focused. The aspirants who want to crack the exam should know the importance of setting goal with pre-planning and its execution. 

This seminar featured different session on various medical topics like Radiology, Pathology, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Surgery and its instruments, Microbiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Pharmacology and Orthopedics etc. Students were very much excited with the twist and turns in the exam pattern. It was extremely interactive session, where students came forward to converse and clarify their doubts. This seminar provided helpful insights to students for acquiring their maximum potential

Deptt of Gandhian & Peace Studies-Panjab University organises Week-Long Celebration Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

Chandigarh 02nd October:- The Department of Gandhian & Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a week-long celebration of the Jayanti of Mahatma Gandhi from 26th September, 2017 to 2nd October, 2017. Dr. Seema Pasricha introduced all the dignitaries to the audience and also informed everybody about the working and achievements of the Department. She elaborated that a Cleanliness Drive Rally was organized followed by activity of cleaning of the Pool around Gandhi Bhawan and its surroundings on 26th September, 2017 in which more than 150 students, University faculty members and non-teaching staff participated.

An On-The-Spot Essay Writing Competition was organized on 27th September, which brought in numerous students from the Colleges of Chandigarh and Punjab University Departments. Further an On-The-Spot Painting Competition was organised on 28th September which attracted a huge number of students from different schools of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali (Tricity).    

A Special Lecture titled, "How to Postpone and Prevent Type-2 Diabetes" was delivered by Professor Sanjay Kumar Bhadada, Department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 29thSeptember in which he educated and informed the gathering about the formula of a healthy lifestyle, to be followed by each and every individual alike.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Bharat Bhushan Bharti, Chairman, Haryana Staff Selection Commission delivered a Special Lecture on "Gandhi's Relevance in the Contemporary World". In his talk, he highlighted Gandhi's mantra of non-violence and emphasized on the importance of a Sanskrit phrase (shlok) "Ahimsa Paramo Dharma" which translates to "Non-violence is the ultimate dharma" by Mann (Mind), Vachan (Words) and Karma (Action).

Professor Sanjay Kaushik, Honorary Director, ICSSR, Chandigarh delivered a lecture in which emphasised that we should always try to be ready for any adverse situation and follow Gandhian ideals in the real essence.  

Professor Arun K. Grover, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University presided over the function. The Vice Chancellor, in his address, highlighted on the importance of this day by explaining the history of Mahatma Gandhi and highlighting the requirements of the Contemporary World with the importance of Science and Technology. He also congratulated all the faculty members and others alike and proceeded to emphasise on the fact that we have to work hard further to achieve more.

The Chairperson, Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies & Honorary Director, Gandhi Bhawan, Dr. Ashu Pasricha, extended her warm thanks to all the invited guests and the attendees. Mrs. Manisha Bansal Badal, Director, Postal Services, Punjab Circle, Chandigarh focused her address on the importance of use of in-land and requested everyone to start writing letters.

On this occasion, the Best Mali Award for the year 2017 was awarded to Jagjiwan Kumar, Construction Office, Panjab University, Chandigarh which included a cash award of Rs. 2100/- with an appreciation letter from the Registrar, Col. Guljit Singh Chadha. The Best Volunteer of NSS Award for the year 2017 was awarded to Sandeep, USOL, Panjab University, Chandigarh with a cash award of Rs. 1100/-

After the prize distribution, the results of the Inter-College/PU Departments Competitive Exam (Subjective) on the Autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi titled, "The Story of My Experiments with Truth" and On-The-Spot Drawing/Painting competition were also announced and the students who got Ist, IInd and IIIrd positions were awarded the cash prize of Rs 1000/-, 700/- and 500/- respectively. The names of the winners are Gurpratap Singh Randhawa, P.U. (1st Prize), Mansi Sharma, P.U. (2nd Prize), Gazala Khan, Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36, Chandigarh (3rd Prize). Sant Nirankari Mandal organizes Painting Competition on Spiritual and Social Topics

Chandigarh 02nd October:- A Painting competition on spiritual and social topics was organized today by Chandigarh branch of Sant Nirankari Mandal at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 30 A, Chandigarh.

Approximately 350 children from Tricity, of age group 7-16 years participated. Children expressed their thoughts through art and colour on topics like Tree Plantation, Cleanliness Drive, Glimpse of Nirankari Mission, Teachings of Nirankari Mission, Nirankari literature, Happy Family, Service to Humanity, etc.

The painting competition was inaugurated by Navneet Pathak  Sanyojak of Chandigarh. He said that prime aim of organizing this completion is to change the child attitude because if such feelings are inculcated in the children then in future feeling of brotherhood can be built not only in society but also in entire universe.

J. K. Cheema Sanyojak of Mohali Branch, and Usha, Aruna Sharma, Ashok Kumar and other distinguished saints were also present on this occasion.

Navneet Pathak ji said that all the children who participated would be given certificates by Sant Nirankari Mandal Chandigarh. The first, second and third rank holders will be awarded by Nirankari Mission. Additionally good paintings made by children shall be displayed in exhibition at Annual Sant Nirankari Annual Samagam scheduled from 18th to 20th November in New Delhi.

Pumpkart Introduces “Mobile Van” to Give Touch & Feel and to Fuel Penetration of E-Retail in Rural Areas
