Chandigarh Congress Holds Massive Protest Against Modi Government and ED

By 121 News
Chandigarh, Dec.17, 2025:-The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee today held a massive protest against the BJP-led Modi government and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Sector 35, Chandigarh, under the leadership of its President, Harmohinder Singh Lucky. Hundreds of Congress workers participated in the protest, carrying party flags and placards bearing slogans such as "Whenever Modi is afraid, he sends the ED ahead," "Truth will prevail, BJP and ED stand exposed," "Truth has won, lies have been defeated," and "Whenever Modi is afraid, he sends the police ahead," among others.

The protesters attempted to march towards the BJP office in Sector 33 and the ED office. However, due to heavy deployment of police personnel and barricading by the Chandigarh Police, the march was stopped midway. The Congress workers then staged a sit-in at the spot and continued raising strong slogans against the Modi government and the ED.

Addressing the gathering, Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee President H.S. Lucky said that the Modi government has completely resorted to politics of vendetta. He alleged that false and fabricated cases are being registered to suppress the voices of political opponents. He said that the National Herald case is a living example of this, in which senior Congress leaders Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Shri Rahul Gandhi, and the top leadership of the party were deliberately targeted on baseless charges.

H.S. Lucky said that yesterday's decision of the Rouse Avenue Court has proved that justice is still alive in this country. He stated that through this protest, the Congress party not only strongly opposes the politics of revenge adopted by the Modi government, but also sends a clear message to the ED that it should not function as a tool of any political party and must work within the framework of law with impartiality and a commitment to justice.

He further said that the verdict delivered after years of struggle is a matter of immense satisfaction and happiness for Congress workers. It has not only marked the victory of truth but has also exposed the real face of the Modi government before the people. In this atmosphere of celebration, Congress workers also distributed sweets at the protest site.

H.S. Lucky added that Congress workers have been continuously fighting this battle for the last several years, from the streets to Parliament. For them, today is an occasion of joy, and distributing sweets on such an occasion is only natural. Drawing an analogy with Dussehra, he said that just as sweets are distributed after the burning of the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad in celebration of the victory of good over evil, similarly, distributing sweets today was justified to mark the triumph of truth in the struggle against the Modi government and the ED.
