Mesmerizing Kathak Dance Presentations by the Students of PKK

Chandigarh, Sept.13, 2025:-A special evening of Kathak dance was organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra under the  series Parampara  by the students of  Kendra at Dr. Shobha Koser indoor auditorium of the Kendra's complex at sector-71  Mohali  from  6:00 pm onwards.  Various kathak dance based presentations were showcased  by the students of Kendra who are taking training under the tutelage of Guru Yogesh Sharma. About 40 students participated in this programe.

Parampara series started by Pracheen Kala Kendra to boost the multilateral personality development of the children  and to showcase their talent. In today's   program artists presented beautiful performances and received appreciation  from the audience.

Today's program started with Ganesh Vandana with lyrics  "Gaye Ganesh " in which   student  namely Shahjada Nahian Chowdhury who is taking tainting of Kathak at Pracheen Kala Kendra under  ICCR scholarship praised Lord Ganesha through Kathak dance.

This invocatory piece was followed by traditional pure Kathak syllables like tode tukde, ladi paran , farmaisihi chakkar etc. with  beautiful footwork. Students  namely Sehar, Reet,  Avantika , Shivani, Chahat,  Ridhima , Aditi, Snigdha , Samriddhi, Shambhavi, Sujita , Aishani , Saira and Devanshi  participated in this item and  applauded by the audience.

Then Shiv Stuti with bols  "Shivam Sundaram "  was presented by the students namely Manya , Mannat , Prachi, Aarya, Priyam and Anaya   participated in this presentation  to showcase their talent.

After this they doled out with Krishan Bhajan , a beautiful bhajan for Lord Krishna by Rupa, Manisha , Navneeta, Natasha, Bhavya , Shweta and Vaidehi.

The programe was concluded  with Sargam in which Anadhika, Aashi, Vridhi, Anahita, Manju, Madhumeeta, Ruby and Nanki  performed to present  traditional Kathak dance.

The team of fine accompanists  Guru Yogesh Sharma on harmonium and Padant, Unnati Sharma on singing, Akshay Sharma and Bhaskar on tabla, accompanied well.

 Dr. Samira Koser, Additional Registrar praised the students for their confidence and  skills . She also applauded the efforts of Guru for imparting excellent training.

  This  effort of  the Kendra by organizing such programs , the students are not only presenting their art with confidence by performing on stage, but also Kendra is playing an  important role in enriching and passing the ancient cultural heritage of India to our upcoming generations.
