CPL: Kings Outclass Strikers, Bashers Clinch Commanding Win, Kapil Dev to Felicitate Teams on Thursday

Chandigarh, Sept.10, 2025:-Chandigarh Kings continued their impressive run in the Chandigarh Premier League with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Capital Strikers at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first, Strikers struggled against a disciplined Kings' bowling attack and were restricted to just 94/8 in their 20 overs. Amrit Lubana (16 off 25 balls) and unbeaten Jaskirat Singh Mehra (16 off 13 balls) emerged as the top scorers. For Kings, Nishunk Birla (2/16), Rohit Dhanda (2/18) and Neel Dhaliwal (2/24) shared two wickets each.

In reply, the Kings chased down the target at the loss of two wickets in just 15.2 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Nikhil Thakur anchored the innings with an unbeaten 41 off 39 balls, while unbeaten Prashant Ahlawat provided fine support with 33 off 29 deliveries.

Earlier in the day, Panchkula Bashers registered a clinical 21-run victory over Dr Morepen Dazzlers..

Batting first, the Bashers posted a competitive 153/6 in their 20 overs as opener Devang Kaushik who struck 71 off 50 balls with four fours and as many sixes. He was well supported by Tarannpreet Singh (33 off 21) in the middle order to ensure a solid total.  Hartejassvii Kapoor (3/28) was the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, the Dazzlers faltered in their chase and were bundled out for 132 in 18.2 overs. Nikhil Kumar (34 off 21), Bhagmender Lather (29 off 21) and Chiragvir Dhindsa (24 off 23) tried to revive hopes but the Bashers' bowlers continued to strike at regular intervals. Ivraj Singh Ranauta (4/28) was outstanding with the ball.

Former test player Kapil Dev will be the chief guest of the two presentation ceremonies of the last league matches on Thursday. The tournament will then move into the knockout stage with two semifinals on Friday, followed by the grand finale on Saturday.
