Ludhiana, August 01, 2025:- Even after 14 years of regular service, computer teachers are deprived of their basic rights. 6640 computer teachers, who have been serving in government schools of Punjab for the last 20 years, are still forced to struggle to implement the regular appointment letters issued by the department 14 years ago on July 1, 2011 with the approval of the honourable Governor and the Punjab Cabinet. Like the previous governments, the current government has not taken any care of the computer teachers. Despite the written promise in the election manifesto and the official announcement by the current Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on the occasion of Diwali on September 15, 2022, to implement the Sixth Pay Commission and Punjab CSR Rules for computer teachers, even today computer teachers are deprived of their written and legitimate rights. Along with this, the double bench of the honourable High Court, while giving a historic decision in favour of computer teachers on February 25, has recognized computer teachers as government employees and the entire Punjab Civil Service Rules and the Sixth Pay Commission have to be implemented on them. But today, despite the passage of 5 months, the government and the bureaucracy are running away from implementing it. The government has not yet been able to provide any relief to the families of 107 computer teachers who have passed away. The consensus reached on the table in meetings, later the government refuses to implement it under the pressure of bureaucrats. Due to this, thousands of computer teachers are going through a period of mental distress.
Computer Teachers Sangarsh Committee, Ludhiana's state committee member Dharminder Singh, Bavleen Bedi and District President Jaswinder Singh said that the government is treating them like a stepmother, which will not be tolerated at any cost. Giving information about their demands, the leaders said that they do not have any new demands, their demand is that the computer teachers be merged into the education department with implementing the Sixth Pay Commission and all the benefits mentioned in their regular orders. The computer teacher also said that the Aam Aadmi Party leaders who were justifying all their demands before the assembly elections are now ignoring them after listening to their demands. Union leaders warned that if the Sixth Pay Commission and Punjab Civil Services Rules are not fully implemented on them soon and no suitable policy is made regarding death cases, then they will surround the CM's Sangrur residence on August 3. The Punjab government will be fully responsible for this. At this time, Varinder Singh, Ranjan Bhanot, Naveen Srivastava, Amit Kumar, Varun Sharma, Jagmeet Singh and Madam Gurpreet Kaur, Madam Anju Martin were present.
