Chandigarh, Mar.17, 2025:-Accusing Municipal Corporation Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora of misbehaving with the delegation of Federation of UT Employees and Workers Chandigarh, the office bearers of the Federation have strongly condemned Arora and announced to hold a huge protest dharna in front of Municipal Corporation office Sector 17 against the negative and malicious attitude of this officer. The date of the protest will be decided in the Federation Executive meeting tomorrow on 18 March 2025. Federation President Raghbir Chand, General Secretary Gopal Dutt Joshi said that after the current Chief Engineer joined the Municipal Corporation, the condition of the corporation has gone from bad to worse in the last 5 months. All ongoing projects have been stopped. Employees are facing problems even in getting their salaries and salaries are being paid by taking money out of their pension fund. All the officers have been paid their salaries for the month of February on 15th March but the employees have not received their salaries in their accounts till date. Promotions, uniforms, children allowance, bonus, arrears of the employees are all pending. The orders made a year ago regarding regularization of the employees are also not being issued. Only obstacles are being created in the ongoing work and they are being forced to implement biometric attendance. Regarding these demands, the Federation had given a 15- point demand letter on 19th November in which not even a single demand has been implemented till date. Forget about working, the officers are not even ready to listen to the problems. Even today, when the delegation of the Federation went to meet the officials regarding non-payment of salaries, the officials misbehaved instead of giving an answer. Condemning this strongly, the Federation announced to stage a protest and demanded the Municipal Commissioner to rein in this officer and take action.
