Youth Space Conference 2029 - Day 1: A Grand Inauguration of Future Space Leaders

Chandigarh, February 17, 2025:- The highly anticipated Youth Space Conference 2029 (YSC-2029) commenced today at CSIO, Chandigarh, marking a significant milestone in fostering global space education and innovation. Hosted by the World Space Council in collaboration with CSIR-CSIO, the event attracted eminent scientists, industry leaders, academicians, and aspiring space enthusiasts from around the world.

The conference began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge.
Navdeep Singh, CEO of the World Space Council, provided a comprehensive overview of YSC-2029, outlining its vision to empower the next generation of space explorers. This was followed by addresses from distinguished Guests of Honor.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Prakasha Rao, former ISRO Director, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the future of human space exploration and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration.

The conference continued with an engaging lineup of technical sessions:
Session 1: Space Technology – Concepts and Challenges
Speaker: Dr. Prakasha Rao, IN-SPACe, Former ISRO Scientist
Session 2: Space Science and Planetary Exploration
Speaker: Dr. Mila Mitra, Former NASA Scientist
Session 3: Spacecraft Systems – Design and Integration
Speaker: Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Former ISRO Director
Simultaneously, an Industry Meet took place, bringing together representatives from the Space Industry Association Australia, startups, MSMEs, and academia to explore collaborative opportunities in space education, skilling, and research.

A thought-provoking panel discussion on Multidisciplinary Collaboration Opportunities for Space Research was held, featuring experts from various domains.
The day concluded with a grand cultural evening, showcasing a fusion of science, art, and innovation, followed by a networking dinner, providing a platform for young space enthusiasts to interact with industry leaders.
