Chandigarh, Feb.01, 2025:-Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky expressed profound disappointment regarding the Union Budget, stating that it offers no substantive relief or increased allocations for Chandigarh. He emphasized that the budget fails to address critical issues such as unemployment, poverty, and inflation.
Lucky said that there has been no creation of new jobs, nor any new projects or allocations for infrastructure development. Furthermore, the healthcare and education sectors have been entirely overlooked, and the budget does not provide for an enhanced investment in the Smart City initiative. This glaring regional imbalance is evident.
He also remarked that the proposed increase in the income tax threshold is belated and will only benefit a limited segment of the population.
