UT Boys Outplayed Chhattisgarh by Seven Wickets to Grab the Series

Chandigarh, Sept.13, 2023:- Nishunk Birla's deadly spell not only managed to snatch the win against Chhattisgarh by seven wickets but grabbed the five ODI match series 3-2 in favour of local lads at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 on Wednesday. While batting first, visitors were all out for 152. Once reeling at 96/9, the duo of Krish Maitry and Om Vaishnav steered the team to 152 with a valuable 56 run partnership. Krish scored 34 runs while Om added 26. Nishunk Birla (3/11) wrapped up the opposition who was well supported by Prince Dahiya (3/45). Skipper Paras (2/21) also clinched two wickets.

In reply, Hosts went to a dismal start when Akash Rana (3) got out cheaply. Later, the fine knock of  Deepender Kush (68) along with  Devang Kaushik (37) helped the team to surpass the target in 33rd over.

Captain Varun Singh (2/35) took two wickets.

Women Cricket: Plaza Zone beat Leisure Zone by 15 runs

In the Women's Under 19 Domestic Tournament being played at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, Plaza Zone defeated Leisure Zone by 15 runs. Batting first, Plaza Zone opener and skipper Sarah Mahajan (52)  helped her team to pile up 174. In reply, Leisure Zone was demolished  by Chhavi (5/27) and was all out for 159 runs. Jasmeet and Shivali scored 22-22 runs.
