Powermen Hold Massive Dharna against Exploitation of Out Source Workers

Chandigarh June 25, 2021:- The Electricity Employees of Chandigarh under the banner of UT Powermen Union Chandigarh today i.e. 25th June 2021 held a Massive Dharna before the Electy. Office, Sector 19, Chandigarh against the adamant  and negative attitude of the authorities towards the long pending genuine demands of the Electricity Employees particularly against the exploitation of outsource workers and demanded t o float immediate tenders of  Driver's, LDC's, LM's & ALM's and grant extension till then.

          The Dharna was addressed by Serve Dhian Singh President, Gopal Datt Joshi Gen. Secy, Federation President Raghbir Chand, Amrik Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Ranjit Singh, Darshan Singh, Pan Singh and others leaders of union beside Rajinder Katoch, Harpal Singh, Prem Pal, and others of the Federation.

          The leaders while addressing the Dharna strongly condemned the anti employees attitude of the Engineer Department and blamed that the Administration through the conspiracy trying to defame this profit earning department and said that the Administration for last two years remain fail to recruit the staff, resultantly the regular strength off employees remain 625 out of 1780 sanctioned posts. Now Admn. stopped the promotion of the employees, similarly about 400 employees of various categories like Drivers, LDC, Lineman and ALM's for last 5-10 years, now Admn has not floated the t enders to engage out source nor extend the period, which adversely affect the services of the public on our side on the other jobloss of low paid employees. The leaders further said that Admn neither procuring material & T&P, nor any development /repair/maintenance works being done and no any new profit has been launched, which all step of the Administration is to demoralize employees & defame the department in public which should exposed.

          Dharna further announces to continue the protest rallies & Dharna's which will culminated in one day Strike on 14.07.2021.
