Seven-Day NSS Camp at GGSCW-26

The NSS Unit of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organised a seven-day camp on the theme "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Jal Shakti Abhiyan" from January 21 to January 27, 2021. The camp was attended by 65 volunteers under the able supervision of Program Officers, Ms. Arshveer Kaur and Ms. Savita Saini. The volunteers participated in various activities for the benefit of the society. This included a visit to an orphanage and senior citizens home, collection and distribution of warm clothes to the needy, various skill development workshops, Nukkad Natak and awareness drive at the adopted village. The volunteers also conducted cleanliness drive in the college and participated in various games. They also performed parade to commemorate Republic Day on January 26, 2021. The main objective of the camp was to develop among the volunteers a sense of social and civic responsibility and to bring about a social change.

Bikram Rana, State Liaison Officer, Chandigarh NSS Cell, distributed prizes to the volunteers on the valedictory function.

Keeping in mind the pandemic, strict safety measures were followed.

The Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, lauded the enthusiasm and diligence of the volunteers and congratulated the programme officers for their commendable effort in organisation and successful completion of the camp.
