Chandigarh Dec.10,2020:- School of Engineering & Applied Sciences and School of Legal Studies of Desh Bhagat University in association with IEEE-PES-IAS Delhi section, IEEE Photonics Society, IEEE Chandigarh sub section and Human Right Welfare Society Punjab celebrated 72nd International Human Rights Day. On this occasion Dr. Shalini Gupta, Vice Chancellor, DBU welcomed all guests. Yashwant Sharma president, HRWSP, presented the annual report of HRWSP and shared the resources of HRWSP towards the betterment society in this human rights awareness program. The Chief Guest of the program Dr. D.M. Mulay, Member of National Human Rights Commission, highlighted online the National Administrative Services to protect the human rights of its citizens. Special lecture on the topic "Human right in the era of automation and artificial intelligence" was delivered by Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, Ex- Director AICTE MOE India, faculty SLIET.
Chancellor, DBU, Dr. Zora Singh, addressed this awareness program and said that everyone should know about human rights, so we need to conduct a public awareness campaign for human rights.
Pro Chancellor, DBU, Dr. Tejinder Kaur shared the events that are being organized to spread awareness about the Human Rights.
Vice Chancellor, DBU, Dr. Shalini Gupta congratulated the organizing team and addressed faculty members and students of DBU.
Momento presentation and certificate distribution ceremony was conducted by Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, Chairman HRWSP, Paramjit Singh Virk (PPS) AIG Joint Director Vigilance Bureau Punjab and S. Darshan Singh, PPS, Dy Supdt of Police (Retd.) Chief-Coordinator, HRWSP and their team.
