Zirakpur, Nov.08, 2020:-The students of the senior wing of Dikshant International and Global Schools presented their first-ever virtual cultural annual festival. The annual day was the manifestation of the performing art skills of students which were showcased in the form of Inter-house drama, dance and music competitions. The Chairman of Dikshant International & Global schools Mitul Dikshit set the ball rolling by lighting the traditional lamp and paying floral tribute to the founder of the school late Shri O N Dikshit.
Mitul Dikshit said that this year students of the school sung the melodies of A R Rahman, performed contemporary and traditional dances and presented thought-provoking skits based on the experiences of the student community in quarantine. The vignette plays presented this year were based on the 'Scenes from a Quarantine' by Lindsay Price.
Mitul Dikshit added that the power of art, creation, community, and performance during these difficult times was witnessed in the exceptionally well-executed show by students and teachers of the school. Students performed from their homes and the senior students of the school compiled and edited the videos for the entire show. The show was finally live streamed on the facebook pages of the school. The hard work and exceptional skills of students were highly appreciated by parents who participated enthusiastically in the virtual streaming of the show.
During the Prize Distribution Ceremony, the achievements of the school were highlighted. It is noteworthy that the school had an exceptional board result of grade X and XII in the session 2019-2020. Students and faculty members were awarded for their extraordinary performance in board exams during the academic year. The staff members were also awarded in recognition of their commitment and dedicated service of 15 years at the school.
An accomplished musician Vinod Pawar, eminent director and actor Rajeev Mehta and a well known choreographer Master Mak were the esteemed judges of the cultural fiesta.
Mitul Dikshit, the Chairman of the schools, during his speech acknowledged and appreciated the role of entire school community and COVID warriors in these challenging times. He passed on a message to the student community to make the most of this time, read a lot, cultivate new skills, nurture talents and at the same time remain compassionate.
