By 121 News

Chandigarh Sept.21, 2020:- Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President, Kumari Selja said that the BJP government was making farmers' slaves of capitalists through agricultural bills. The country will never accept this. She said that these bills introduced by the BJP government were against the farmers, laborers and the ahrtiyas. The BJP government had passed these bills by strangling the democracy. These bills expose the government's planned conspiracy to abolish the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers. She said that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal does not have the courage to go before the Prime Minister and raise his voice against these anti-farmer bills whereas the Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala was also not raising his voice in support of the farmers.

Kumari Sailja was leading a demonstration against the BJP government's anti-farmer bills in Jind today. Later, she also submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner.

Kumari Selja said that the bills introduced by the government will snatch away the rights of the farmer. Now the condition of sale of agricultural goods in Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) has been lifted, which will eliminate both competition in the market and MSP for the crop. With this law, the mandis will suffer and at the same time, the crops of the farmers will be sold at one-third of the price, due to which the farmers will also suffer a huge loss. When the farmers' produce will not be purchased in mandis, the government will not be able to regulate whether the farmers were getting the MSP or not. Also, in case of a dispute between the farmer and the company, they cannot approach the court. She asked, "Why no guarantee of MSP has been given in the bill? Giving no guarantee of MSP exposes the conspiracy of the government. Apart from this, taking out grains, pulses, onions, potatoes, etc. from the Essential Commodities Act, will lead to heavy stocking of these items, which will further lead to black marketing and these items will be sold to customers at higher prices.

Kumari Selja alleged that PM Modi does not believe in dialogue and the way in which these bills had been passed in Rajya Sahba, was the murder of democracy.

She said that a conspiracy has been hatched to end the existence of farmers through contract farming. Through this law, contract based farming has been legalized, so that big capitalists and companies can do contract farming. Everything will be in the hands of the capitalist or the company such as the prices of crops, when the crop will be purchased from the farmer, when the payment will be made whereas the farmers will remain as laborers on their own land.

Kumari Selja said that at the time when cases of corona infection were increasing rapidly in the country, why was the government in a hurry to introduce these bills at such a delicate time. The bills, passed in haste, first in the Lok Sabha and then in the Rajya Sabha, exposes the government's planned conspiracy to abolish the MSP for farmers.

Kumari Selja demanded that the agricultural bills, which were anti-farmer, laborer and ahrtiyas, should be repealed immediately. Government procurement should be guaranteed at MSP for every single grain of the farmers. The cases filed during lathi-charge in Kurukshetra should be withdrawn and compensation should be given to the injured. Apart from this, she demanded a fair compensation should be awarded to the farmers by conducting girdawari of damage caused to crops due to white fly or waterlogging. She also demanded to provide benefits to the farmers, who were not getting the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
