Chandigarh May 18, 2020:-NavSankalp Association helped provide medicines for a 10 year old boy named Zidan, suffering from short stature (due to growth hormone deficiency), from Chandigarh to his Village- Bari Jalan in Kashmir, amidst nationwide lockdown.
Zidan's father Mr. Mohd Ayub (seasonal worker) and mother Mrs. Zamrooda Akhtar (housewife) are R/o Village- Bari Jalan, District - Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Monthly income of the family is INR 6000-7000. Zidan requires growth hormone treatment for around 3 years approximately. The estimated cost of therapy per month is INR 18000.
The organization also had donated a sum of INR 50000/- to Zidan earlier this year on February 18th, 2020.
Due to the prevailing lockdown situation in entire country Zidan's father Mr. Mohd Ayub could not find medicines for his child in Kashmir. He was required to travel all the way from Bari Jalan, Kashmir to Chandigarh for which he was required to have travel pass. He then reached out to NavSankalp Association in the last of week of April.
The organization understanding the gravity of the situation couriered the medicines to Zidan in Kashmir on May 6th, 2020 which was received by them on May 14th, 2020.
NavSankalp association is a student run charitable organisation based in tri-city(Chandigarh) which aims at providing medical aid to the critically ill children below the age of 17 in PGIMER and GMSH - 16. Till date NavSankalp has contributed a sum of 67 lacs and has saved 181 lives by collecting donations from the general public.
