Chandigarh, 25th May 2020: Bhavan Old Students' Society (BOSS), the alumni arm of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, conducted its first Virtual 'BOSS Connect' over an online teleconferencing platform yesterday. This avant-garde idea was conceived by the school alumni to facilitate pass outs from the school to reconnect with their alma-mater amidst the difficult times, where social distancing norms make physical reunions unviable.
The first edition of BOSS Connect held yesterday, brought together the Batch of 2000, and witnessed enthusiastic participation by the school alum from 10 different countries who were able to seamlessly interact with their friends and favourite teachers.
Senior Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora, Vice Principal Suparna Bansal, Principal Junior Wing Soma Mukhopadhay graced this live event, along with teachers who were specially invited at the request of alumni.
'As the interaction is limited to a single batch, it becomes a highly personalized and super nostalgic event,' remarked Vinay Aggarwal, President BOSS, who conceived this unique initiative. He mirrored the enthusiasm shared by BOSS members and further remarked that setbacks like COVID-19 could not stop BOSS from finding small joys for the student community.
The event was co-hosted by Richa Gupta, Vice President BOSS and Karan Mahajan, Ex-president BOSS. Radha Bahuguna, Teacher Coordinator for BOSS apprised participants about the various initiatives undertaken by BOSS during the COVID crisis. This was followed by an interactive session, where ex-students from across the globe questioned their favourite teachers and recalled memories reminiscing their good old school days. The Senior Principal, Vineeta Arora, then addressed the virtual gathering and appreciated BOSS's efforts and lauded the team members for the successful event. This was followed by a gaming session hosted by teachers Aruna Nanda and Sangeeta Kakkar. These included tricky riddles, academic questions, Bollywood puzzles, and much more.
Keshav Garg, Member BOSS Executive Board, presented the closing remarks thanking the participants for their avid participation, and appealed to them to remain connected. The meet ended on a high note with BOSS promising its members more such pursuits in the future.
