As the country deals with the outbreak of COVID-19 and most of the organizations working remotely, major Indian banks continue to function with certain changes as per the government advisories. The banks have implemented necessary measures to ensure their employees' wellbeing whilst continuing to serve the country. At a time when transport and movement are a continuous cause of concern, Meru is helping by alleviating this problem by providing essential travel services, especially in cases where the employees do not have their own vehicle.
Speaking on this initiative, Neeraj Gupta, Founder and CEO at Meru Mobility Tech Pvt. Ltd. said that with banking sector providing essential support during this lockdown and public transportation being ceased in most of the cities, we at Meru have undertaken supporting our bank employees. We have deployed 200 Ozone sanitized vehicles to ensure that bank employees can reach their workplaces in a safe environment. To mitigate any risk while traveling, we have taken several measures to reassure customers and maintain the safety of both the rider and driver partner. Our partnership with banks will help keep our economy running while following the government guidelines for containing COVID-19.
Meru has introduced several measures to enhance customer protection during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. One of the key measures Meru has introduced is a unique 'Ozone Treatment' to sanitize the cabs at designated hubs in the city. This process helps by releasing Ozone (O3) air inside every cab and in the process reducing the extent of viruses and bacteria. The company is continuously educating and updating its driver-partners on various preventive measures like using alcohol-based sanitizers, wearing face masks while changing them regularly, encouraging cashless payment to minimize personal touch as well as maintaining social distancing amongst fellow drivers. These measures are aimed at upgrading levels of hygiene within the cabs as well which will provide for a pleasant and safe ride for its passengers.
In the coming weeks, Meru will deploy over 800 cabs, serving only essential travel requests from various sectors like banks, hospitals, government offices, telecom and essential goods suppliers. The riders can contact Meru's 24x7 helpline number of 44224422 for any assistance.
