Desh Bhagat University Contributes One Day’s Salary to Prime Minister’s National Relef Fund

Chandigarh April 07, 2020:-Due to the spread of pandemic COVID-19, the world is facing an unprecedented confront amid communities and economies all over affected by this. The world is coming together to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing governments, organizations, industries and individuals together. Approximately every nation, sector, organization, community and household is struggling from its brunt.
At this point of time Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab and staff, which has always joined hands with the administration during difficult times, has contributed one day's salary to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund/PM Cares.
The Chancellor, Dr. Zora Singh said that we are always there to stand by the nation in every facet; it is the time when we should come forward and extend whatever support we can, every contribution is imperative, what matters is the lives of people. He also expressed gratitude to doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, police, government staff, and other people who are engaged in providing essential services. He said that we are making all efforts to support the society and distributing sanitizers and masks is one of them .He also appreciated the efforts of UGC for encouraging the educational institutions to contribute.
The Pro- Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, said that, as a responsible citizen, it's our full responsibility to take all precautionary measures and extend our support to overcome this situation of catastrophe.
Dr. Virender Singh, Advisor to Chancellor, quoted that Desh Bhagat University is adhering to all norms issued by Government of India. We are sanitizing the university and will ensure complete safety of our students and staff.
