Chandigarh 27th December:- Vijay Public Smart School, Sector 17, Panchkula celebrated its Annual Day function on December 26th, 2016. To mark the milestone, a captivating cultural fiesta "Rhythm 2016" was staged by the students at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. The occasion was graced by Mrs. Sujata Rana, District Elementary Education Officer as the revered Chief Guest and Mr. Kulbhushan Sharma, National President of Independent School Alliance, the Guest of Honour for the day.
The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Hon'ble Chief Guest followed by a Shiv Vandana. An amalgamation of various culture rich performances, the programme had the talented students of the school presenting enthralling performances of Goan dance, Arabian dance, an English song based on Good Manners, a Play based on Hon'able Prime Minister's "Swach Bharat Abhiyaan", a display of colossal skills of Taekwando and many more. The old melodies of bollywood which the students of classes KG and 1st danced to, left everyone present mesmeric and elated. The beautiful rendition of the dance drama based on the epic Ramayana in the traditional way was spellbinding. The grand finale stole the show with brilliant performance of the students on Bhangra.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest conveyed her appreciation for the blossoming performances and also for the standards the school has set. She also stressed on the need to impact quality education to the students so that they could compete with the rest of world.
The guest of honour while praising the students for their wonderful performance also encouraged the student to become an ideal citizen of the country and have a sense of responsibility among them.
The Executive Director Amit Jain presented the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the students and the journey of the school so far. He also congratulated the teachers and students for putting up a spectacular show.
Shalini Jain, Principal of the school thanked the Chief Guest and all others present on the occasion. The programme culminated with the National Anthem recited in full valour by each person present.
