CME on Vaccinology by PGI School of Public Health

Chandigarh 25th July:- School of Public Health, PGI, Chandigarh will organize 3rd Annual Public Health lecture on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Lecture Theature-1, Nehru Hospital, PGI, Chandigarh. Public Health lecture will be delivered by Dr Maharaj Kishan Bhan, who is currently a National Science Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, Government of India, President of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry; and Formerly Secretary to Government of India, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology. He will address the faculty, resident doctors and staff members on the theme "The Art and Science of Vaccinology". It is his innovation that India has for the first time an indigenous vaccine against rotavirus diarrhea, so as to prevent morbidity and mortality due to severe dehydration due to rotavirus diarrhea among less than five-year-old children. In recognition of his services to the country, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan by the Indian Government in 2013. He will unveil the third issue of Public Health Bulletin, an endeavor of 'MPH Network'.

Department of Community Medicine, School of Public Health is also organizing First National Workshop on Vaccinology from 27th July to 31st July 2016, with am to generate awareness and create interest among the researchers regarding Vaccinology, and to build the capacity of the participants with a medical or scientific training background to be able to conduct research in vaccine development up-to its delivery to the populations in the context of developing countries. There are about 45 participants who are coming from all over the India to attend this workshop.
