Amazon.in Opens its Largest Fulfilment Centre in Sonipat Haryana

Chandigarh 20th July:-  Amazon.in today announced the opening of its largest Fulfillment Centre (FC) spread over 200,000square feet with more than 800,000 cubic feet of storage space in Sonipat Haryana. The FC will allow Amazon.in to offer its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service to several thousand more small & medium businesses in the Delhi NCR region and the state of Haryana. This Fulfillment Centre is in line with Amazon's planned investments of six new FCs in India. The combined storage capacity available to sellers on Amazon.in will increase 1.5 times to 7.5 million cubic feet by the end of this year. 

On the occasion of the launch, Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, Industries and IT Department, Government of Haryana said that Amazon India's latest investment with the launch of their largest Fulfillment Centre signifies the growing interest of large global enterprises in Haryana. The FC will enable thousands of small & medium businesses selling locally created products such as apparels, handlooms & handicraft to service customers seamlessly across the country & the globe. It will also fuel the growth of ancillary businesses such as packaging, transportation, logistics, and hospitality across the state. We are committed to enabling the ease of doing business and enabling companies like Amazon.in to expand their presence in Haryana.

Akhil Saxena, Vice President, India Customer Fulfillment, Amazon India said that towards our constant endeavor of transforming the way India buys and sells, we are glad to announce Amazon's largest Fulfilment Centre in India at Sonipat. It will enable thousands of small & medium businesses to save money by replacing their upfront capital expense with low variable cost and pay only for the storage space they use and the orders that we fulfil. Our Fulfilment Centers play a significant role in the development of an inclusive e-commerce economy with benefits accruing across the ecosystem. It also enables many more customers in the region to shop on Amazon.in and opt for Cash on Delivery, Guaranteed Next-Day, Same Day, Release Day, Morning delivery and Sunday delivery.

Amazon.in now has close to 2 million cubic feet of storage area to offer to thousands of sellers across Haryana and Delhi. Local sellers, weavers, craftsmen & artisans involved in traditional textiles & local handicrafts too would be able to reach a wider set of customers and provide a delightful customer experience through this new FC. Many sellers have already registered at this facility and many of them have started inbounding their products. 

 Talking further about the community interventions of the Amazon Cares program,  Akhil Saxena, Vice President, India Customer Fulfilment, Amazon India said that as a corporate member of this community we believe we have to play our role in creating opportunities that will transform the lives of local communities.
