Chandigarh 08th June:- With an aim to spread awareness among the masses with regard to make "Chandigarh-Child Labour Free", Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh under the able guidance of Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Labour Commissioner, organized an orientation workshop on 7th June, 2016 at Labour Welafre Centre Building, sector-30B, Chandigarh. The representatives of various associations were made aware regarding the prevailing laws of establishment of Child Labour. Assistant Labour Commissioner, laid emphasis that all the associations should join hands with the Department to curb this menace by spreading awareness in the society and informed that the Department will be undertaking a special drive to fight the problem of Child Labour by conducting raids. Sh. Neil Robert, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee along with Child Protection Officer also apprised the participants regarding the facilities being provided to the children who are rescued from various quarters.
