Chandigarh 25th May:- MD & CEO of IDBI Bank Ltd., Kishor Kharat visited Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), Dharmasthala, Dakshina Kannada, Bank's largest Business Correspondent, on May 16, 2016 to witness the field operation. Under the arrangement, IDBI Bank has assisted around 53000 SHGs consisting of 7.50 lakh members from poorest sections of the society.
During the visit MD & CEO attended a group meeting of SHGs; visited KVI unit managed by SKDRDP and interacted with the members to connect at the last mile. MD & CEO also addressed the group members in a public gathering arranged at SKDRDP's Head Office at Dharmasthala. He outlined the various initiatives undertaken by the Bank in terms of meeting the credit requirement of the needy people of the society for improving their standard of living. He also stressed the importance of various social security schemes initiated by the Government and the Bank's role in promoting the same. He appreciated the efforts of an institution like SKDRDP as an effective channel to reach the last mile of delivery.
Dr. Veerendra Heggade, President, SKDRDP in his address acknowledged the contribution of the Bank and its social commitment towards the poorest of poor.
