Saka:The Martyrs of Nankana Sahib’ Will Make History in Punjabi Cinema:Jagmeet Samundari

Chandigarh 08^th April:- On 20^th February, 1921 some people gave their lives to save the Nankana Sahib Gurudwara from the control of Mahants and Britishers. The upcoming Punjabi film 'Saka, The Martyrs of Nankana Sahib' is based on their martyrdom and now ready for the release this Friday. Today, film's director and writer Jagmeet Singh Samundri, co-producer Harvinderjeet Singh Sandhar and actors Mukul Dev and Oshin Brar visited the city for promoting the film. It is a Sukhbir Sandhar Films Pvt. Ltd. presentation.

Everyone is quite optimistic about the performance of the film at the box-office. Director Jagmeet said that this film will make history in Punjabi cinema because this is one kind of effort which has never been done before. This is not just a historical film but also a lesson for today's young generation. The whole community is connected to the film already.

For one of the important sequences of the film a massive set of Gurudwara was put up at Uchcha Pind near Phagwara for which our art director from Mumbai, Sunil Pandit made the arrangements. In spite of heavy rains during the shoot, the set stood strong and the shoot was continued. The makers take it as the blessings of the Almighty.

Actor Mukul Dev said that when you become a part of something historical like this, you have a big responsibility on your shoulders and he believe the makers of this film have truly performed their duty and fulfilled the responsibility. Now it's audiences' turn to do their part.

Actress Oshin Brar is quite happy with the fact that she got a chance to work in such an important film. She said that this film will be nothing less than a great memory and whenever people will remember this film, they will certainly discuss about the actors too. For me this is my biggest achievement.

Co-producer of the film Harvinderjeet Singh Sandhar said that there has been a lot of hard work, research, challenges behind the making of this film. We are fully dedicated to deliver something great and memorable to the Punjabi industry and the audience. It is the story of our roots and it deserves love, respect and honor.

International actor Stass Klassen has also worked in the film. There are many international films to his credit. He will be seen playing the British governor of Lahore.
