Chandigarh 07th April:- To save our generations & for building a better future, each and everyone should contribute for complete eradication of drugs from the society otherwise our future generations will never respect us. This was stated by SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar while addressing the gathering after initiating the campaign against drug menace from Kambala.
Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that in adherence to the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, Dy. CM Punjab & Director General Police, a special campaign to counter the problem of drugs, has been initiated so that complete district could be made drug free. On the first day of campaign various awareness programs conducted at 10 different places at Mohali, Dera Bassi & Kharar. These programs were conducted with the joint efforts of Police officials, Health officers & officials from other departments in cooperation with general public. The main motive of conducting these programs is to completely eradicate the drug menace and to build a healthy society. He said that in the past the state of Punjab had gone through the difficult time of terrorism and now some of the foreign powers are in indulging in weakening the state through drug menace. We should remain aware about such activities. He said that drugs results in a weak society in terms of health as well as wealth.
Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that young generation is the future of our nation and drug eradication can be completely ensured with the help of youngsters. He said that various Drug de-addiction centre & rehabilitation centres have been established in the Punjab which helps the drug victim to recover and to live normal life. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that drug peddlers will not be exempted at any cost. He further said anybody could give information about drug peddling at Toll Free Number 181. Name & identity of the informer will not be disclosed.
During this Dr. Puja Garg said that drug de-addiction centre at Phase 6 Mohali is running satisfactorily wherein every drug victim is being treated with due care, so that he victim could live normal life. He also urged that people should remain aware about drug menace. During this village Sarpanch Jageer Singh appreciated the program organised for generating awareness about drugs.
