Administrator Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki Launch Mobile Food Testing Laboratory

Chandigarh 01st April:- Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Punjab & Haryana, Administrator UT Chandigarh, launched today one mobile Food Testing Laboratory for U.T. Chandigarh.

Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki announced that this Mobile Food Testing facility is the first to be set up in the Country. The mobile van would be stationed at different locations every day as per a roster drawn out.  This route plan will be shared within the public so that they can avail of this testing facility. The laboratory will test raw food samples including milk at a nominal cost of only Rs.30/-.

The Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Parimal Rai, informed that the consumer who would get the food material tested would get the result immediately. This initiative would sensitize the Public to being cautious and aware about adulteration and the facility will provide an avenue for them to clear their doubts.  This initiative will also act as a warning to the suppliers especially the Milk Vendors to ensure that the product supplied by them confirms to Food Safety Standards.

UT Home Secretary cum Secretary Health, Anurag Agarwal, who was also present on the occasion further elaborated that those samples that would be found not confirming to the standards and were indicating adulteration would be further examined in the Food Testing Laboratories for confirmation.  

U.T. Chandigarh is fortunate to have started this wonderful new facility for the residents.  The mobile van will be regularly monitored to ensure that the services are being provided satisfactorily to the community.
