Subsidy on Solar Invertors Will be Provided to SC Beneficiaries:D.S.Mangat

Chandigarh 11th March:- Deputy Commissioner, Mohali, D. S. Mangat today stated that 1500 Solar lights have been installed in various villages in the district and subsidised amount of Rs. 4500 /- per light has been provided to the beneficiary. Besides this, subsidy has also been provided on installation of 16 domestic bio gas plants. D. S. Mangat said that people will be made aware about using non-conventional energy sources and exhibitions in this regards will also be organised so that people could get knowledge about efficient use of non-conventional energy sources.

D. S. Mangat said that PEDA gives subsidy on installation of domestic bio gas plants which also provides economical, pollution free manure for use. As such, PEDA has provided subsidy amounting to Rs. 9000/- for general category beneficiary and Rs. 11000/- to the beneficiary belonging to SC category. Besides this an additional subsidy amounting to Rs. 1200/- is being provided for making connection of bio gas plants with latrines. He further said that under Solar Farm Scheme, any farmer could install Solar Plant worth capacity 1 MW to 2.5 MW, at his own farm. The power thus generated from the Solar Plant will be bought by Punjab State Power Corporation. A minimum of 4.5 acres of land is required for installation of 1MW Solar Power Plant.

D. S. Mangat said that under Solar Inverter Scheme, a Solar Panel of Capacity 300 watt, 500 KVA inverter along with 150 A HD batteries is installed and subsidy is being provided to beneficiary of SC category and the beneficiary is required to pay only Rs. 17290/-. The total amount for the entire installation is Rs. 51040/- and for such installations more than 50 applications has been received in the district, for which the work for the installation will be carried out shortly. He said that additional 1500 solar lights will be installed in the various villages of the district. He said that the power consumers could install could install Solar Plant at their own roof which is subjected to maximum capacity of 80% connected load as per monthly electricity bill. Under this scheme, Solar Plant of capacity ranging from 1KW to 1000KW could be installed for which subsidy is being provided by the Govt.
