Balbir Singh Dhol Calls Upon to Protect Mother Earth for Coming Generations

Chandigarh 04th March:- DPI Secondary Education Balbir Singh Dhol today called upon the citizens to protect mother Earth for coming generations as environment is in critical condition and natural resources are depleting very fast.

Stating this after Inaugurating environment wall in SCERT Guidance Bureau here today he said it is prime duty of every citizen to create awareness about the environment and teachers can play an important role in generating awareness towards it. He said under the dynamic leadership of education minister, Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema, a worth praising initiative has been taken by state guidance bureau, Punjab by making this environment wall in cooperation with Environment Information System Centre situated in Punjab State Council for Science & Technology. Lauding the efforts of state guidance bureau DPI said this effort would go a long way in spreading information and generating awareness about environment the people.

Elaborating the importance of environment wall, state coordinator cum deputy director, guidance bureau Shruti Shukla said that this wall would provide basic information regarding conservation of resources to the visitors visiting in this office. It will also update the visitors on latest information and techniques required for saving the environment.

Shruti Shukla informed that this environment wall would have thought provoking cartoons, posters, articles on the subject. She said that these articles and posters will be updated with the help of ENVIS centre regularly. Once it is successful, the model would be replicated in other educational institutions in the state.

Deputy Director Shruti Shukla also informed that 300 cluster guidance resource persons who have been recently trained in guidance and counselling across the state would also be sensitized in the field of environment education and this project through these CGRPs will be taken to remote corners of the state.
