Chandigarh 13th February:- MCM DAV College For Women organized its annual Job Fest here today. An initiative of the college Placement Cell, the fest witnessed an enthusiastic response from job seekers across the tricity. Around 40 companies from different sectors like Banking, Hospitality, Marketing, IT, BPOs, Education, etc., offering lucrative jobs, thronged the MCM campus to recruit young talent. As many as 1134 students registered themselves for interviews with leading companies at the fest. The recruiters included reputed companies like Kotak Mahindra Bank, DHFL, Pramerica Life Insurance, Megrisoft, IPAT, Oakridge International School, Arya Hospital, Diala Bank, Career Craft Consultants among others. 429 candidates were shortlisted with Aviator Hub and Value HR offering the highest package of Rs. 5 lacs.
Some job seekers seemed confident of their performance in the interview and hoped to make the cut while others took it as an experience that will prepare them for facing interviews in the future.
Sainav Gupta, a B.Com. student at a city college found the experience very enriching and was excited at being shortlisted by Arena Multimedia for a job profile in Marketing. Jahnvi of PGDMC at MCM said that the job fest provided them a platform to assess their potential and gain a perspective on the requirements of the job market.
MCM Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava said that this fest is an effort to bridge the gap between the employers and the potential employees as well as to acquaint the students with the employer's expectations from a prospective employee.
