MCM DAV College For Women Annual Fest:Meraki Weaves it's Magic on Day 2

Chandigarh 06th February:- The second day of Meraki 2K16 at MCM DAV College For Women was as electrifying and fun filled as the inaugural day, with a host of events to keep the competitive spirit of participants ticking.

The day's events kicked off with exhilarating cultural programme - Rangla Punjab where students performed on foot tapping Punjabi numbers. Renowned Punjabi singer Sarabjit Cheema infused overwhelming energy into the event with his performance on his popular songs. Punjabi singer and college alumna Ms. Malkiat Kaur brought a soulful synergy to the event with her sufi and folk songs, leaving the audience in a trance. 
The audience swayed to the melodious song performances by bands of different colleges at the event, Open Mike, with the sounds of guitars and drums soaking the entire atmosphere in melody.

 A highly informative seminar on Ethical Hacking by Er. Sahil Baghla, CEO, EH1 Infotech provided insights into the rampant menace of hacking and the ways to tackle it. A session on Career Counselling was also held where the participants were apprised of the various career avenues.

Elegant and gorgeous divas of  MCM in their ethnic and traditional finery sashyed down the ramp with aplomb and grace for the event - Fashion Show.  Miss MERAKI – 2016 title went to Alisha Sehgal of B.A. I while Gazelle and Ria Malhotra, both of B.A. – II were adjudge First and Second Runners up respectively.

The Prize Distribution ceremony was attended by H. R. Gandhar, Advisor to the President, DAV Managing Committee as the Chief Guest and his wife Mrs. Sudesh Gandhar. H. R. Gandhar  gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions held on the two days. Visibly impressed by the scale of the event, H. R. Gandhar lauded the zeal of the participants. The fest ended on an exciting note with enthralling concert by SUNBURN.
MCM Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava was all praises for the organizers of the fest for having put up a splendid show. She congratulated the winners of various events and motivated all the students to emulate the qualities of leadership and excellence displayed during the fest.
