Chandigarh 18th January:- The Government of Haryana in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is all set to unfold 'The Happening Haryana Global Investors' Summit 2016' slated to be held at Gurgaon on March 7 and 8, 2016.
The summit will bring together leading investors from all over the world for interacting with policy makers, including the political leadership on the investment environment and opportunities in Haryana. Besides, Pravasi Haryana Divas is also being organised on March 9, 2016 to attract investments from such entrepreneurs from Haryana who have set up business ventures abroad. The Summit would witness the presence of top-notch Industry Captains, Sectoral Specialists on a single platform, to foster the spirit of competitive & cooperative federalism. The State Government expects a significant surge in global investor interest and definite commitment to invest as a result of the Happening Haryana Global Investors' Summit.
The Haryana Government is organising Roadshows in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bangalore to invite the business community and potential investors for the forthcoming Summit 2016'.
The first roadshow organized at New Delhi on December 22, 2015 has proved to be immensely successful as several prestigious multi-national and Indian companies expressed their willingness to set up their ventures in the state in the field of food processing, industrial parks, electronics, health care, civil aviation, solar energy, warehousing and skill development. "The Haryana Government is not only committed to promoting industry and giving job creation a leg-up but will also work to provide affordable housing to the industrial labour to enable them to give their best in boosting production," said the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, while addressing press conference during the roadshow. In order to infuse the youth with the spirit of entrepreneurship, he also launched a 'start-up' programme, a unique programme aimed at generating the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth of the state and generating "job creators rather than job seekers". In addition, steps are being taken to organise boot camps and road shows for start-up awareness in colleges and universities across the state.
While addressing the National Council Meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 15, January 2016 in New Delhi, Manohar Lal stated that his Government's focus is to make Haryana the most investor friendly State with a focus on creating an enabling policy framework which will ensure ease of doing business and also helps in reducing the cost of operations for the industry. The new Enterprise Promotion Policy 2015 of the State has laid down a roadmap for providing a stable and reform oriented framework for the new investments as well as the existing industry. He further added that Haryana has become a power surplus state and announced that upto 10 Crs projects can be sanctioned at the Deputy Commissioner level and more than 100 Crores investment projects will fall under mega category. He invited the industry leaders to be part of the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit scheduled on March 7-8, 2016 at Gurgaon. During the interaction, the Chief Minister also mentioned that even though Gurgaon has not made its place in the Smart City list along with Faridabad and Karnal, the state government will push it further, else will invest 500 crores from the state funds to make Gurgaon a smart city.
He also announced the launch of e-portal to facilitate prospective investors in Haryana (www.investharayana.nic.in) and further added that the Government is taking several initiatives to promote young entrepreneurs and startups by providing easy loan and tax subvention.
Speaking at the CII National Council Meeting, Capt Abhimanyu, Industries Minister of Haryana shared that the overall eco-system in Haryana is changing and government is focused on complete transformation of regulatory framework in Haryana through liberalised and transparent development regime. He announced that Haryana is now the 1st State to provide the trade of transferable development rights in the housing and construction sector and also mentioned that Haryana is fully equipped for implementing GST in the State and has proactively done complete computerisation of the systems. Capt Abhimanyu further emphasized that the present state government is very active on high performance and shared that the present ranking of the state is 14th and their target is to be in top 5 in next few months.
