Chandigarh 22nd December:-  Universal Group of Institutions's Final year students Ubaid Yaseen, Dhurender Thakur and Irfan Bashir of ECE Department designed and developed Automatic Irrigation System under the guidance Head of the Department Dr Swati Sharma. The students have developed this project owing the social responsibility towards the development of rural belt of the country. As there is requirement for an irrigation system without much human intervention, this automatic irrigation system senses the moisture content of the soil and automatically switches the pump when the power is on. A proper usage of irrigation system is very important because unplanned use of water results in wastage of priceless water.

This automatic plant irrigation system is very helpful to control the wastage and this system is very useful in all climatic conditions. If installed and programmed properly, automatic irrigation systems can even save money and help in water conservation. Automatic irrigation systems can be programmed to discharge more precise amounts of water in a targeted area, which promotes water conservation.

While giving Information about the project Chairman Dr. Gurpreet Singh said that there are several advantages of Automatic Plant Irrigation system which includes conservative use of water resources, improved growth, discouraged weed growth, time management, control on fungal diseases which grow quickly under moist conditions and adaptability.
