Chandigarh 08th November:- Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, organized nuptial knot at a mass marriage ceremony for Twenty Eight Couples. The ceremony was organized with the support of the Social Welfare Department of the Sant Nirankari Mission. The mass marriages were organized in a simple ceremony held at Samagam Ground, Burari Road, Delhi ahead of the 68th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam scheduled to be held from November 14 to 16, 2015. While His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji blessed the couples, thousands of devotees including the parents, friends and relatives of the brides and bridegrooms, attended the ceremony.

The simple ceremony was marked by the traditional Jaymala followed by a Common Garland for each couple – a special feature of a Nirankari wedding. Four sacred hymns (Lawan) were recited by singers with full spirit of devotion. Simultaneously, His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji showered the flower-petals from the dais. The devotees also joined them in showering the flowers.

Among bridegrooms 8 belonged to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh each, while 5 came from Punjab, 2 from Jammu and Kashmir and 1 each from Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Among brides, while 1 came from Canada, 9 belonged to Delhi, 6 each to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and one each to Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. Of these, 5 couples belonged to Delhi, 4 Uttar Pradesh, 3 Punjab and 1 came from Chhattisgarh. All other 15 couples were either Inter-state or Inter-country.

Blessing the couples, His Holiness appreciated their parents and other relatives to have opted for this simple but beautiful ceremony in the presence of such a large number of devotees. It is here that we learn the art of living based on human values of love, humility, and tolerance, spirit of sacrifice, cooperation, mutual understanding and goodwill. If adopted, these values make our personal and social life beautiful and turn every house into a heaven.

Baba Ji said that the ceremony is being performed at the Samagam venue where we are going to present an impressive example of unity in diversity. If the same message is taken to the level of family, it will certainly improve the social atmosphere. Baba Ji said that the message of unity, equality and understanding given to the couples during the ceremony (Lawan) is relevant to other members also. The couples, after all, are going to become a part of the family where everybody will require these virtues of humility, broad vision, tolerance, sweet language, etc.
