MCM College organizes Talk on Vulture Conservation and Breeding

Chandigarh 16th November:- The Department of Zoology, MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organized talk on Vulture Conservation and Breeding by Dr. Vibhu Prakash, a veteran Scientist, Deputy Director and Head, Vulture Conservation and Breeding Program, Bombay Natural History Society.

Dr. Prakash discussed with the students the reasons and repercussions of remarkable fall in vulture population. He educated them about the indispensable role vultures play as scavengers. From his vast research and field experience, he shared the techniques and practices for adding to the vulture population by breeding them in controlled environments, nurturing them and then releasing them into wild. The students enthusiastically interacted with Dr. Prakash. He was all praises for their enthusiasm and knowledge.

The Principal of MCM, Dr. Nisha Bhargava, applauded the endeavor and said that such diligent platforms not only add to the knowledge of students, but also apprise them of the issues of nature that require immediate intervention.
