Chandigarh Administration to organize Essay competition on “Chandigarh of my Dreams” for Smart City Proposal

Chandigarh 06^th October:- To maximize the citizen participation in the process to make a proposal for Chandigarh Smart City,Chandigarh Administration, has initiated essay competition titled, "Chandigarh of my Dreams" from today. The competition is open for all the residents of Chandigarh, who can share their thoughts, vision and ideas for making Chandigarh a city of their dreams. The best selected entries would bag prizes, which are 1^st Prize: Rs. 25000, 2^nd Prize: Rs. 15000 and 3^rd Prize: Rs. 10000. The only medium for submission for entries for the competition is online through the website http://mygov.in. Participants can submit their entries last by 20^th October, 2015 in English, Hindi or Punjabi.  

In compliance to this initiative of the Chandigarh Administration, the Education Department Chandigarh Administration is organizing an Essay Writing on Chandigarh of my dreams (in English), Mere Sapno ka Chandigarh (in Hindi) and on Mere Supneyan da Chandigarh (in Punjabi)topic.

The categories for the competition will be in Category A- Class 6th to 8th, Category B- Class 9th to 12th.  The entries can be hand written and in typed form. The entries will be invited from students from 5th Oct -14th Oct 2015 and the result of the same will be uploaded on the official website of the Smart City Project and Education Department on 19th Oct 2015. There will be three prizes in each category i.e. first, second and third prize. Prize-money for each category will be Rs. 10,000/- , Rs.6, 000/- and Rs. 4,000/- respectively for first, second and third positions and Rs. 500/- each for 50 best consolation prizes, which will be awarded by the Chandigarh Administration. In addition commendation/ appreciation certificate will also be awarded to prize winners.

Chandigarh Administration is also organizing Painting Competition for schools students on the theme of Chandigarh of my dreams.  This competition will be held in two categories for school children of both Government and Private schools. The categories will be: Category A- Class 6th to 8th, Category B- Class 9th to 12th.

The school level competition will be held from 5th Oct -13th Oct 2015 in the respective schools and the 200 shortlisted entries will participate in the "on the spot" painting competition to be held on 19th Oct. 2015 at Govt. Museum Sector-10, UT Chandigarh at 10:00 am. Prize-money for each category will be Rs. 10000/- , Rs.6000/- and Rs. 4000/- respectively for first, second and third positions and Rs. 500/- each for 50 consolation prizes in each category. Theses prizes/ certificates will be awarded by the Chandigarh Administration.
