Shemrock Student Wins Shell Junior National Science Scholarship

Chandigarh 21st April:- Neha Garg brought the laurels to the tricity for being the only girl for winning the prestigious Shell Junior National Science Scholarship. Neha Garg is the students of Shemrock School, Mohali. As many as 15000 students of class ninth and tenth from 650 schools across the country participated in the online examination across 20 cities this year. The students were tested in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and General Knowledge focusing on Energy. The examination followed the pattern of objective type of questions with one subjective question to act as a tie-breaker and to determine the student's aptitude and motivation for science She is one of the three girls from the country to be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 by Dr. Yasmine Hilton, Chairman Shell companies in India. While encouraging the students Chairman Hilton said that the Shell Junior National Science Scholarship aims to inspire students to think about contemporary issues.

Principal, Shemrock School, S.K.Sharma While congratulating student said that such competitions are known for its intricacy as they require a wide knowledge range and motivate children to pursue higher studies and a career in science and technology. These competitions encourage students  to become the innovators of tomorrow .
