Electricity Employees Hold Rally in Support of Their Demands

Chandigarh 05th March:-The Electricity Employees of Chandigarh held Rally before Electricity Office Sector 20, Chandigarh. The Rally was held for the withdrawal of the proposal of Chandigarh Administration to corporatize/ privatize the running U.T. Electricity Department Filling up the over 650 vacant posts lying vacant in the department since long, procurement of Cable, Joint, Transformer, Meter, Tubes, Fuse wire, and other urgent material in the department, offer of appointment to the next kin of diseased employees on Powercom pattern, Removal of pay anomalies, Arises between the pay of senior and junior Employees, Amendments in rules and providing T&P and safety devices to the workmen including procurement of fault locator and boom ladder bans for immediate  the attending of breakdowns and complaints.

The Rally was addressed by Gopal Dutt Joshi General Secretary, Ram Sarup President, Vijay Singh, S.S. Rawat, Des Raj, Dhian Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Satpal, Rajpal, Amrik Singh, Darshan Singh besides other leader of the Union. The speakers while addressing the rally strongly criticized the negative and adamant attitude of authorities  of Engineering department particularly the repressive attitude adopted by Chief Engineer S.K. Chaddha and Electricity M.P Singh and blamed that due to confirmation of these two officers the position of departments become bad to worse, development and repair work has been done neither any new schemes and projects has been initiating nor any development work are being done thus consumers remain worst affected. Instead of working in the interest of  department and consumers all attention is being own towards issuing of illegal and pick and choose transfers of employees and blamed that on one side transfer orders of lower level employees have been issued in the name of CVC guide line where as the transfer orders officers those who are sitting in sensitive and public dealing seats are not being issued thy demands CBI enquiry on the episode and demanded immediate transfer of SE Electricity M.P. Singh who is public dealing seat and member of purchasing committee and signed MOU of over Rs.125 Crore and sitting in this seat since last 5 years if the employee having 3 years stay has been transferred as per CVC guideline why not SE Electricity. And strongly demanded his immediate removal from the sensitive seat.

The leaders also appeal the employee to participate in 17th March, 2015 Dharna in a massive way to give bitter fight against the corrupt officers of the Engineer Department.
