CGC,Organize a Seminar on Crime Against Women

Mohali 09th October:- Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri organized a seminar on Stop Crime Against Women. Paramjit Kaur Landran, Chairperson Punjab State Women Commission delivered keynote address at the moment as the Chief Guest. Paramjit Kaur Landran inaugurated the Women Cell of the College and advised that the Women Cell should work as a counseling center to solve the personal problems of women .She opined that a number of suicides could be avoided if the women felt free to speak about their personal problems to their parents, teachers or some other elders. The function started with a documentary which covered all types of crimes against women like female feticide, eve teasing, rape, domestic violence, acid attacks etc. Ms. Paramjit was so much impressed with this documentary that she wanted to show it during her proposed National Seminar on Violence against Women. In her keynote address, Ms. Paramjit said that a woman not only unsafe outside her home but even within her own home also. According to her there were sufficient laws to curb the menace; the only thing needed is proper implementation. She advised girls to remember police helpline numbers 181 & 1091.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General CGC said that exceptionally good human values & professional ethics improves positive attitude in life.
