DSK Hyosung registers 100% sales growth in 250cc segment

Chandigarh 20th September:- Riding high on a great start to the year 2014 with the introduction of the much awaited real luxury cruiser Aquila 250 and robust network footprint expansion across the country, DSK Hyosung announced an astounding growth of over 100% year-on-year in their 250 cc segment (total of 375 units sold comprising of New GT 250 R and Aquila 250) during the period of July-August, 2014. Taglined as 'The Real Cruiser' the stunning New Aquila 250 was the first-of-its kind luxury cruiser in the 250cc segment which revolutionized biking in India with the looks, the attitude and superlative ride experience. Within months of its launch in February this year, the Aquila 250 received phenomenal response with close to 275 bookings within the first month of its launch. The New improved GT 250 R from the DSK Hyosung stable embodies the elements of advanced futuristic styling, sporty graphics and aggressive design elements like stylish new headlamps among others coupled with three attractive colour combinations. The new avatar captured the imaginations of new age speed aficionados, which is reflected in the robust sales growth this 'Big Boy' has garnered.   

Sharing his thoughts on the strong performance, Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman DSK Hyosung said that growth in terms of sales has been phenomenal for the previous quarter. We have witnessed around 80-90% year-on-year growth this year when compared to the same period last year. The 250cc segment has always been the fastest selling segment for DSK Hyosung, this year it has been the game changer with new launches coupled with evolving customer buying patterns and organic growth in metros as well as tier II & II cities, and overall positive sentiment reflected within the economy. In the next couple of months, we are aiming to achieve a sales target of 300 bikes per month and are quite confident of accomplishing the same.
