Chandigarh 24th August:- Chhaya School of Art held an art competition in which students from all the top schools of Chandigarh participated. The young artistes were divided into two categories. Category 'A' was for Classes 6-8 & Category 'B' for Classes 9 - 10. Three prizes first, second and third were given out in each category to the artists. The art competition was followed by a cultural show where children gave scintillating performances.
Kaushik Sinha, Chairman, CSA said, thatr they are bringing art work of as many as 60 students under one roof. The competition was only a precursor to a two day mega Art Exhibition which will showcase as many as 700 paintings from 23rd to 24th August'14 at Punjab Kala Bhawan. The sheer size of the exhibition makes it quite unique and will make it one of tri-city's largest Art Exhibitions. The display of paintings today seemed like some festival of art with beautiful works making the environment colorful. The idea is to conduct an extravaganza that will display works of different students of numerous schools under one roof.
Ms. Praveen Sinha, Director, CSA, said that Art is something which comes from within. But in today's competitive world, not everyone gets a platform to show case their talents. But Chhaya School of Art has made this a reality by providing budding artists with this platform through this exhibition.
