Gurukul Vidyapeeth becomes First Institute of North India to offer Mining Engineering

Chandigarh 20th June:- Gurukul Vidyapeeth institute of Engineering & Technology has launched two new courses Mining engineering & Automobile engineering in engineering stream .It is the first institute in North India to offer B.Tech in Mining engineering . Punjab Technical University ,Jalandhar has approved the launch of these two courses at its academic council.

Dr. S.C Jain Vice President, Gurukul Vidyapeeth said that Mining & Automobile engineers are in demand globally. Mining Engineers are mainly responsible for extraction of various mines from the earth keeping the environment intact. The extraction of the mineral may be such as coal , gold , uranium etc. . The mining engineers are highly paid with an annual packalge of Rs. 5-7 lacs per annum for freshers. He said that Gurukul Vidyapeeth aims to serve the nation by providing specialized technocrats and enabling students to explore newer vistas of opportunities. Mining Engineering & Automobile Engineeing both offer very lucrative job opportunities. Mining engineering is much more than a course. The physical fitness standards in this course have to be at par with that of international norms, which makes it even more preferable for students for whom physical fitness is a way of life. He further informed that the various mining companies offers a starting stipend of Rs. 25000.00 per month to the mining engineers and the automobile companies hire the manpower at a handsome package of 5 lacs per annum as machine operation.

Most of the Engineers work in the field of , mining of coal , diamond and oil & gas exploration,refineries, reservoir modeling and management, drilling and production operation and marketing of minerals. There is good demand for quality engineers due to technology advancement in boosting minerals such as uranium and oil & gas exploration. Few companies offering jobs to such Engineers are: , Coal Corporation of india , Steel Authority of india , TISCO , reliance , IOC, BP, HP.
