Former DEO Mohali Vinod Kumar Found Dead in Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh 04^th June:- Chandigarh Police has found body in the Sukhna Lake. The deceased was identified later. The deceased was Punjab Education dept officer Vinod Kumar found dead in mysterious circumstances. His body had been recovered fron Sukhna Lake by Chandigarh Police. The body has been sent to Sector 16 General Hospital for Post-Mortem.The exact cause of death is still unknown but according to police sources, it may be suspected case of suicide .

 

The body of the deceased  was first noticed by a patrolling team, around 11 am. Immediately the patrolling team reported the incident to the concerned officials. Later the body was fished out from the water by a team of divers.
Police have still not been able to identify the body, even after a thorough search no such object was found which could ascertain the identity of the deceased person.

 
Vinod Kumar was deputed as Deputy Director Vocational in Punjab School education Dept. Vinod Kumar was in the news for the last many months due to controversy of purchase of books for school libraries. He was the head of the committee, constituted by Punjab Edcuation Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka for the purchse of books. Jindal Commission reportedly indicted the committee for violating rules for the purchase of books .Vinod Kumar was reportedly under depression due to news reports carried in the media about findings of the Jindal Commission. The commission has given the clean chit to Maluka in this case.

According to the police officer in charge of the area, the cause of death of Vinod Kumar is still shrouded in mystery as during the preliminary investigations no injuries marks were found and at the same time no suicide note was recovered.
