CGC Jhanjeri Introduces New Course In B.Sc. Agriculture

Mohali 21st May:-- Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) is going to start new course of B.Sc. (Agriculture) from this year. This will be a four year degree course affiliated with PTU. Eligibility for admission to this course is 10+2 with Science. The Class rooms, labs and other infrastructural facilities for this course has already arranged in the campus besides facility of additional computers, books & journals in the library are another feature of the campus for the students .

While giving more details about the course Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said that agriculture is the oldest profession in India and Punjab is one of the biggest producers of agricultural products. This course will provide real time opportunity for the students to work intensively with farm families to gain experience of land based enterprise and introduce new technologies through various extension methods. It also helped in establishing linkages with various partners involved in agricultural development. Besides, the graduates of B.Sc. (Agriculture) have wide placement opportunities not only in Punjab but in the entire country.

Dr. Bansal said that this kind of courses can be helpful for students to become entrepreneurs as well as they can secure job opportunities before passing out.
