Chandigarh 20th May:-- The 'Clinical Neurosciences and Critical Care Nursing' edited by Dr Sukhpal Kaur Lecturer, NINE, PGI, Chandigarh and Dr Manjeet Singh, Medical Officer, GMSH, sector 16, Chandigarh, is an excellent overview of the care and management of critically ill patients.
The contributors to the book are the eminent nursing and medical faculty from all over India. The contents are elaborated in 30 chapters including care of the patient on ventilator; Role of Nurse in Acute Stroke Management; Care of patients with incontinence, bladder training, Catheterization; Nursing management of brain dead organ donors; Standard safety measures; Documentation in ICU; Care of the caregivers of the patients admitted in ICU, and ECG recording and interpretation etc. The target population for this book includes the nursing faculty, the post graduate and undergraduate nursing students and the nurses working in various intensive care units of the hospitals as well as other bedside nursing colleagues. The book was released by Prof AK Gupta, Medical Superintendent, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
