Chandigarh 22nd March:-- A rich tribute will be paid to India’s great freedom fighters, particularly Shaheed Bhagat Singh, on the martyrdom day of the iconic patriot. Hallmark Public School, Panchkula’s theatre wing-- 'Kalakaar' will present 'Gagan Damama Baajyo', a play penned by well known playwright Piyush Mishra. The duration of the rendition is 50 min and it will be rolled out at Yavnika Open Air Theatre, Sector-5, Panchkula on Sunday the 23rd March, which is celebrated as the Martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh. The play which will be staged in a completely professional manner will commence 7 PM onwards. The voice of the 'Sutradhar' in the play has been given by Jivtesh Garg, Director, Hallmark Public School.
Jivtesh Garg said that our young actors’ aim to share with the youth of India Bhagat Singh’s ideology, why he became a freedom fighter, his perception of free India etc. The play will be replete with all ingredients like music and lights. The attires have been carefully chosen to reflect that era.
Giving detail about the cast he said that the Lead cast is Snehil Sharma - Bhagat Singh, Paras Garg -Rajguru,Devkaran Singh Dhillon-Sukhdev, Jatin Chhabra-Ashfaaq Ullah Khan, Mehar Kaur Nakai-victim of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The director of the play is Mr. Abhishek Sharma, who is a Post Graduate from Dept.of Ind Theatre, PU with a vast experience.
Abhishek, said that though the play will be delivered by students, the kind of quality showcased is no less than stage performances even by professional theatre artists. Adds Mrs. Kavita Wadhwa, Principal, Hallmark Public School, that the USP of the play is that it will use sound to gain effect. All student actors have done their own voice-overs of dialogues in a professional audio studio, where the entire cast including the Director of the school, clocked 50 hours.
