Chandigarh 08th March:-- Hero Group Founded BML Munjal University (BMU) has been awarded university status by the Haryana Government yesterday. Established under the Haryana State Private Universities Act, 2006, BMU will have three schools to begin with: School of Engineering & Technology, School of Commerce, and School of Management. The university will offer the following undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes: BTech (360 seats), BCom Honors (60 seats), BBA (60 seats) and MBA (60 seats).
BMU has adopted a multi-dimensional evaluation process to assess an applicant’s suitability for the courses offered by the university. These include rankings in government-conducted exams, class 12 & class 10 marks (graduation scores in the case of MBA aspirants), essays, group discussions, personal interviews and, aptitude & attitude tests.
Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Governing Board, BML Munjal University said, that they are delighted to announce that BML Munjal University has received university status. The kind of knowledge and skills required in a 21st century economy are radically different from those needed over the past hundred years. BMU is an attempt to bring about an innovative transformation in higher education in the country and plug the gaps that prevail in the current education system. BML Munjal University will nurture technically sound, multi-skilled and ethical leaders that our country needs, not just graduates with narrow expertise and shallow knowledge as is the case right now.
Akshay Munjal, Director, BML Munjal University explained, that India has the world’s second highest number of students enrolled in higher education, yet none of the Indian universities figure in the top 200 universities of the world; nor are graduates found to be employable by industry. BML Munjal University is attempting to rectify this situation by partnering with leading international universities and industry, introducing the latest learning paradigms and making students world ready - for a career, a business and even for pursuing a cause-related vocation.
