Mohali 06th February:-- To impart Punjabi traditions and culture to its students Oakridge International School celebrated Punjabi Mela. The culture of Punjab was very delicately shown through the articles, the clothes, the cutlery, food and various small trinkets. The students performed gatka, folk dance i.e. Gidha and Bhangra ; the teachers also took out jagoo, which was centre attraction of the event. The entire scene reflected the variations of the state and the impact of culture on the way we live our life. Through these intercultural activities each child becomes aware about their culture
Pranjila Dass Principal of the institutesaid that tiny tots are like blank paper what is scribble on it remains there forever so it becomes very important to make them aware about their tradition along with modern education. She further added that we have to protect our culture and tradition because this is our identity and we all knowing by our culture and tradition. Moreover, it helps us to be connected to the past and provides identification to past and continuity.
