Chandigarh 25th February:-- In keeping with the ongoing array of academic pursuits at MCM DAV College organized a National Seminar cum workshop on ‘ New Dimensions in Eco-Management’ sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India under the Star College Scheme. The seminar commence with the inaugural address of Kuldeep Sharma, IFS, the Chief Guest at the event. Kuldeep Sharma lauded the endeavor and impressed upon the students the need of such interactive platforms for scholarly transactions.
Prof. Prince Sharma, Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, Chandigarh discussed various upcoming Eco Management techniques and dimensions during the keynote address. Other speakers at the seminar were Dr. Ravinder Khailwal, school of public health, PGIMER, Dr. Adarshapal Vig, Head, Botanical and Environmental Science, GNDU, Amritsar, who deliberated upon diverse ways to assess, manage and continually improve the environment thereby establishing a mutually beneficial relationship with the nature. Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Khalsa College, Amritsar conducted a workshop on vermicomposting.
Principal of the college Dr. Puneet Bedi said that there is a rising need to establish a connect with Mother Nature and platforms such as this are not only a welcome move but are also indispensable platforms for generation of idea and exchange of information to bring that objective alive.
